Know a future high school graduate who could use some extra funds for college? Have them apply for one of our scholarships. Three winning applicants from each of our three conferences---Florida, North Georgia and South Georgia--will receive $1,000 each. Applications are available on our website, www. unitedmethodistcu.com and are due, along with a 500 word essay, by April 30, 2008. Specifically, applicants will need to meet the following requirements:
Be a Credit Union member in good standing. Joining requires a $25 initial deposit into a share savings account, but once a member, your college student is eligible to participate in Credit Union products and services.
Submit a 500 word essay. This essay needs to answer the following questions: Why should United Methodist church members belong to Georgia Florida United Methodist Federal Credit Union and what does the credit union offer them and the Methodist Community?
IMPORTANT DEADLINE INFORMATION:
Turn in the essay and completed application no later than April 30, 2008. Again, an application may be found at www.unitedmethodistcu.com. Scholarships will be awarded at the Conference meetings in May for the Florida Conference and in June for the North Georgia and South Georgia Conferences.
