Beware of Other Credit Card Offers
They May Not Be All They Claim To Be!

Every trip to the mailbox finds one, two, even three different offers from companies wanting you to carry their credit card. The rate looks great, but a closer look at the fine print will reveal hidden fees and clauses you never knew existed for a credit card. A few examples include:

Universal Default Penalties. Some card companies will make regular checks on their customer’s credit report. If they detect any late payments on any bills, they will use this as an excuse to hike their own interest rate. Never mind that you have never made a late credit card payment!
Bait-and-Switch Card Offers. No matter what the advertised rate is, the credit card companies don’t have to honor them. The low-interest VISA you are applying for today may show up in your mailbox as a high-interest one instead.
Shrinking Grace Periods. Grace periods are the time which credit card transactions don’t accrue interest. Historically, this has been 30-days. Recently some credit card companies shortened this time to 23, and even 20 days! Some cards offer no grace period at all.
Two-Cycle Billing. Typically, interest charges are calculated using a standard one-month method. Some credit card issuers are instituting a new method which determines interest on the balance of two previous months. In turn, this means that any grace period will be lost.
Inactivity Charges. If you aren’t using their card, then you are losing them money. That’s why some companies are charging fees for not using their card--a reported $15 for six months or non-use and even higher for a longer period of inactivity.
Balance Transfer Fees. To take advantage of the amazingly low interest rate they offer, you may also pay a hefty transfer fee—from 3%-5% depending on which company you use.
Take our challenge: Dare to compare! We may not always be the lowest interest rate, but you can always count on us to be upfront and fair when it comes to extra fees and charges. Currently, we are offering a low 7.90% APR* on our VISA, with no annual fee. For more information about our VISA, contact a Member Service Representative at any branch office.
