The List Is Out! Nominees Up For Election At This Year's Annual Meeting Are Announced

During the Annual Meeting, the credit union membership will elect three individuals to serve on the credit union’s Board of Directors. In accordance with the credit union bylaws, the Board Chairman has appointed a Nominating Committee to select individual candidates for the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee, consisting of Kelly brisendine, Chair, Maryanne McCurdy and Clarence Thrower, has submitted the names of the following individuals to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors of Georgia Florida United Methodist Federal Credit Union: James Mitchell, Eugene Barlow and Joseph Teague. Nominations to the Board of Directors of Georgia Florida United Methodist FCU may be made by petitions submitted by members. Qualifying packages may be picked up at the credit union office. Those members who wish to nominate someone for a vacancy should prepare and submit petition in accordance with published procedures. Nominees must be members in good standing. Be a part of the democratic process that makes credit unions so special. Participate in the
election of our new Board of Directors and make
the future bright for us all.

Nominees For The Georgia Florida United
Methodist FCU Board of Directors

Eugene Barlow
Currently serving the Leesburg United methodist Church in Georgia, Rev. Eugene Barlow will complete his 44th year of service to the South Georgia Conference in June, 2006. A graduate of Young Harris College, Georgia Southern University and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Rev. Barlow is our current Treasurer of the Georgia Florida United Methodist Federal Credit Union. He is also the Chairperson of the Conference Committee on Special Relief. Rev. Barlow has been on a number of committees, boards and councils of the South Georgia Conference including those associated with the Diaconal Ministry, Ordained Ministry (Treasurer), Youth Ministries, and Young Adult Ministries. He has also served as Coordinator for the Southeastern Jurisdiction for National Youth Ministry Organization. Rev. Barlow is married to Jolene and has two sons, Michael and Keith and five grandchildren.

James R. Mitchell
Our current Board Chairman, Rev. James R. Mitchell, is up for re-election. Rev. Mitchell, now retired, served as a minister for the North Georgia Conference for 43 years. A graduate of Young Harris College, Rev. Mitchell continued his education at Asbury College and received his Masters of Divinity from Emory University. Rev. Mitchell, along with being our Board Chairman, is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the United Methodist Children’s Home, President of the Young Harris Alumni Foundation, Inc., and Director of Travel Ministries, Education Opportunities Tours. Rev. Mitchell has been married to Peggy German for 44 years. They have two children, Debbie and Paul and three grandchildren.

Joe Teague
Pastor Joe Teague has served the First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, Florida for the past four years. Pastor Teague has served as a board member from Florida for the past 10 years. He also serves as a trustee for both the United Methodist Children’s Home in Florida and Trinity College. A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, Pastor Teague also holds a bachelor degree in philosophy from the University of South Florida. Pastor Teague has been married to wife Claire for the past 24 years. They have a son, Joseph, Jr. who is 14 years old.
